The Nudge feature in Pro Tools can be very helpful, especially in audio post. To use it, your main timeline should be set to display Timecode. Once it is, set the nudge value to 1 frame. Now, if you click on a clip to select it, you can move it forward or backward in time a frame at a time, using the + and – keys on the numeric keypad.
What is even better, is that the video track updates as you nudge the audio. Yes, that means that you can spot a sound by nudging it forward or backwards until it is synced with the correct video frame. No need for burned-in-timecode on the video. No need to type in timecode numbers to spot to. Just watch the picture. What could be easier?
